Libraries & Student Resources

The University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) Library and Information Commons provides access to a wide array of electronic and printed materials. UMR students have access to all of the University of Minnesota Libraries’ online resources for their academic programs, including the catalog, periodical indexes and full text articles. Books and other printed materials may be obtained from the University of Minnesota Libraries through document delivery or interlibrary loan. Students should contact the Information Commons staff to assist them with their requests.

The Library's mission is to provide comprehensive resources and services in support of the research, teaching, and learning needs of the University community.

The University of Minnesota Libraries are one of the University's and the State's greatest intellectual and capital assets. In addition to supporting the teaching and research of the University, the Libraries play a major role in providing information services to the State. Housed in five major facilities and eleven branch sites, the University Libraries are comprised of over 5 million print volumes; 48,000 serial subscriptions; 5 million microforms; 3 million government documents; and 397,000 maps making it the 17th largest research library in North America.
