Work Study Awards

Work study positions are available at University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) in a variety of locations, including administrative offices, Student Services, the Information Commons, and assisting with campus tours. Most positions have flexible hours to work around class schedules and other commitments.

If you receive a work study award as part of your financial aid package and are interested in learning more about the opportunities at UMR, please contact Gail Sauter, Director of Operations, at 507-292-5114 or saute008@umn.edu.

Receiving Aid

Most financial aid payments are credited directly to your student account. A few students will, however, receive financial aid checks. If, for any reason, you do not receive your financial aid, you are still responsible for paying your tuition and fees by the applicable due date.

Withdrawal Policy

Financial aid recipients must maintain the same number of credits throughout the semester. If you withdraw from courses and are eligible for a tuition refund, federal regulations require that your refund be returned directly to the financial aid account from which you received aid and/or sent to the lender of your student loan to reduce the principal on that loan.

If you withdraw from courses at the 100% refund rate during a semester, you must repay all financial aid received during that semester. If the amount of your tuition refund is insufficient to repay the appropriate financial aid fund(s), you will be billed for the difference by Student Accounts Receivable and/or the Student Loan Office. If you fail to pay these bills by the due dates, you will be liable for additional billing charges and a hold will be placed on your record. You will not receive further financial aid until your bill is paid in full. You will be notified by e-mail of the disposition of your refund.
