New traditional and non-traditional, full-time and part-time, undergraduate and professional school students taking credit courses
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in high school or prior post-secondary academic coursework
Candidates with financial need will take precedence.
Three broadly based areas of involvement will be considered for scholarship qualification: academic goals, work/volunteer activities, and community involvement. |
Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded - $500 will be disbursed Fall 2008 and the remaining $500 in Spring 2009, pending continued academic success and enrollment.

Candidates must be new full-time undergraduate or professional school degree students in the health sciences.
Selection determined by financial need and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in high school or prior post-secondary academic coursework. |

Candidates planning on pursuing a certificate, licensure, or degree program at the U of M Rochester will take precedence.
Scholarship recipient(s) will be selected on the basis of the depth and scope of their involvement in helping others and on their accomplishments in leading community service initiatives. |

New traditional, non-traditional, full-time, and part-time students pursuing undergraduate or professional school degrees are encouraged to apply.
In accordance with the donor’s wishes, a plus factor will be given to applicants from Steele and Olmsted counties in Minnesota, then to students from the state of Minnesota.
Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need as well as merit. |

Traditional, non-traditional, full-time, part-time, graduate, and undergraduate students taking credit courses
Candidates with prior post-secondary academic coursework should demonstrate a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Candidates planning on pursuing a certificate, licensure, or degree program at the U of M Rochester will take precedence.
Candidates with financial need will take precedence.
Three broadly based areas of involvement will be considered for scholarship qualification: academic goals, work/volunteer activities, and community involvement. |

Candidates must be new students pursuing undergraduate or professional school degrees.
Prior GPA of 3.0 or higher required. Financial need will also be considered. |

| Kereakos Family Scholarship |
Candidates must be planning to attend or already enrolled in a health sciences program at the University of Minnesota Rochester.
Traditional, non-traditional, full-time, and part-time students taking credit courses are encouraged to apply.
Candidates’ established home residence should be southeastern Minnesota.
Candidates with financial need will take precedence.
Three broadly based areas of involvement will be considered for scholarship qualification: volunteer activities, community involvement, work history.
Candidates will meet one of the following:
(1)
Candidates must have earned a minimum of 12 credits at Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
(2)
Candidates will be limited to individuals who have immigrated to the United States, and include:
- Spouse of an individual who has immigrated to the United States
- Child of parent(s) who has (have) immigrated to the United States
- First generation descendent of immigrant parents born in the United States.

| H. Bryan Neel, III Health Sciences Education Scholarship |
New traditional, non-traditional, full-time, and part-time students pursuing undergraduate or professional school degrees in the health sciences are encouraged to apply.
The award will be directed to students entering undergraduate or graduate degree programs (in their first semester as degree-seeking).
Recipients will be required to maintain a GPA in good academic standing to be eligible for the second disbursement.
Scholarships will be awarded based on merit. |

The award is for new students with academic promise. The award is renewable for three (3) additional years pending satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate degree. |

| Women Supporting Success Through Education Scholarship |
Traditional, non-traditional, full-time, and part-time, graduate and undergraduate students taking a minimum of three (3) semester credits
Award winners may use the funds to support their education. Examples of appropriate use include: childcare, transportation, fees, books, other expenses directly related to pursuing higher education.
Scholarship funds are not designated for tuition costs only. Depending on the use of the funds, the recipient may be liable for tax on certain portions of the award.
In accordance with the donors’ wishes, a plus factor will be given to female students to have demonstrated financial need.
Three broadly based areas of involvement will be considered for scholarship qualification: (1) reasons for seeking degree, licensure, or certificate; (2) how the applicant plans to use the degree, licensure, or certificate to benefit self and others; and (3) financial need. |

Completed applications and required materials will be reviewed and award winners selected by the University of Minnesota Scholarship Committee.
All applicants will be notified by letter as to whether they have or have not been selected to receive a scholarship.
Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend a banquet for donors and beneficiaries on Monday, November 10.
