Receives" Extraordinary Rochester Women" Award

Dr. Marie Maher is an "Extraordinary Rochester Women" award winner! In January 2005, Marie was selected for the award based on her service to the community and her extraordinary leadership as a woman in Rochester. This is truly an honor for Marie, her family, and for all of us at UMR. If you see Marie, be sure to congratulate her.

Thank-a-Teacher Award Recipient

Dr. Marie Maher recently received this award which is presented by the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Minnesota. This program has been in operation since 1998 and provides students with an opportunity to give feedback to outstanding teachers.

Dr. Marie Maher is the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR). In her position she seeks to support links between the community and UMR mission and to provide giving opportunities to support these relationships. She sees philanthropy as coordinating “giving” (time, talent, money) with the University goal of attracting, maintaining and serving the needs of our high quality students.
