| Dr. Hiniker served as the
Southeast District Director for the University of Minnesota Extension
Service and now serves as the Campus Regional Director for this
area. She has administrative responsibilities for the Extension
Regional Center, Rochester and in this position works to demonstrate
the commitment of the University of Minnesota Extension Service
to collaborate with other University partners by engaging faculty,
staff and students in programming that is mutually beneficial.
She also works to build partnerships with many external agencies
and organizations. She provides administrative outreach to counties
in the southeast and works closely with county administration
and local Extension Offices.

Areas of Expertise:
Dr. Hiniker’s masters thesis and Ph.D. dissertation research
involved university outreach and the importance of higher education
partnerships. Before coming to the University of Minnesota,
Dr. Hiniker was an Instructor and Research Assistant Professor
in the College of Education and Human Services at SIUC and was
the Director of “An Adventure of the American Mind”,
a $2.7 Million grant from the Library of Congress that focused
on preparing K-12 teachers to integrate technology in teaching
and learning. Dr. Hiniker was previously a research administrator
and past Director of the Information Sciences Institute at Minnesota
State University Mankato. She has published in workforce education
and technology journals and has conducted numerous national
and international presentations on technology and the preparation
of today’s workforce.
