The majority of students that earn their degrees
through the University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) are graduates
of the University of Minnesota. As a result, graduates have two
opportunities to be involved in alumni activities:
- UMAA
The University of Minnesota
Alumni Association (UMAA) serves alumni and the University
of Minnesota in a unique way. It is both an independent nonprofit
association, governed by a volunteer board of directors and it
is the University of Minnesota's department of alumni relations.
- RAAFUM
Our local chapter of the UMAA, Rochester
Area Alumni and Friends of the University of Minnesota (RAAFUM),
serves over 4,000 alumni and friends throughout Rochester and
Southeastern Minnesota. RAAFUM programs support the UMAA programs
and the special interests of alumni and friends in our area. Funds
raised from our events support three scholarships for local students
attending the University of Minnesota and the University of Minnesota
Rochester.
Alumni are also important contributors to the University in time,
talent, and contributions. Please contact our office if you would
