Dr. David Carl is on sabbatical leave during the 2007-08 academic year. His research focuses on institutional and system-wide strategic planning that promotes the effective integration of innovative technology in higher education. Special emphasis is being given to the teaching/learning process, provision of student services, and facilities planning.

Having served as an educator and consultant in the Middle East, South America, United States, and Canada, Dr. Carl possesses a strong interest in the potential for leveraging technology to enhance education, service, and scholarship. The scope of his work has encompassed developing and evaluating interactive distance learning strategies for K-12 education and international graduate education with multiple-site instruction.
