As the health sciences program director at the University of Minnesota
Rochester (UMR), Faith works with students, health care professionals
and providers, and health care organizations to identify and deliver
health sciences academic programs to Rochester and Southeastern
Minnesota. This includes undergraduate and graduate degree programs,
noncredit continuing education, and certificate programs in the
health sciences delivered in traditional and distance education
formats

Zimmerman’s professional background in health care delivery
has been as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse in inpatient,
outpatient, and community settings. She has been a nationally certified
family nurse practitioner and for the past 25 years has blended
primary care clinical practice along with a various positions in
higher education, specifically as an educational planner, program
developer, and faculty member.
Zimmerman’s past clinical and educational experiences have
provided many opportunities to work with students who are usually
employed full or part time and have a need for high quality, accessible,
cost-effective educational programming. She currently volunteers
her clinical services at the Salvation Army Free Acute Care Clinic.
She is astutely aware of the need for health care professionals
to maintain clinical skills and competencies in the delivery of
health care, while also addressing career mobility issues.
