Training opportunities with American Red Cross

Volunteer and train now to help people when they need you most!

You have a great opportunity to join the University of Minnesota Rochester Disaster Relief Team!  We are partnering with the Southeast Minnesota Chapter of the American Red Cross to develop a team to open and operate a disaster relief shelter.

Come to the one hour informational sessions to learn more about this opportunity and other ways you can help.

Monday, November 9 from noon to 1 pm University Square Room 322

Volunteering with the Red Cross provides:

• Flexibility to volunteer locally
• Free training that is accepted throughout the nation
• Opportunities to meet a variety of interests
• A sense of accomplishment
• A way to meet people in a new community
• Learn new skills while practicing those you're acquiring
• Improve your resume
• A chance to help others and make a difference

You will be given an opportunity to sign up for training at the information sessions. If we have enough interest in the training we hope to be able to offer the training at the University Square at no charge to participants. Another outcome of training may include a desire by participants to organize a Red Cross Campus Club.
