Pay for College

If you’re committed to taking on the challenge of earning a degree at the University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR), then we’re committed to working with you and your family to make it possible. We understand that your education is a significant investment for both you and your family and we’re ready to help guide you through the financial aid process at UMR. This section of our website will assist you with tools and information as you progress through the financial aid process.

How will I pay for college?

It’s a common question. Almost 90% of BSHS and BSHP students receive some form of financial aid. Financial assistance for college is available from a number of sources including merit-based scholarships, need-based grants, loans, and employment opportunities.

Financial Aid

No matter where you plan to attend college, the first step in the financial aid process is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Seniors, it’s a good idea to get started on your FAFSA early and to complete it by March 1, UMR's priority FAFSA deadline, if possible. You should also fully complete your application for admission, as this is also your application for merit based scholarships for incoming students at UMR. Take some time to go through the important links in this section (listed on the left) as well as the resources and links listed below.
