Student Conduct

All students at the University of Minnesota are subject to the Board of Regents Student Conduct Code (PDF). It is important for students to be familiar with the policy so they can maintain good standing at the university and help others avoid potential conflicts with the policy.

All students studying in Rochester are subject to the University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) campus procedures for potential violations that do not involve academic misconduct. In addition, potential violations of academic portions of the policy in UMR administered courses are subject to UMR’s campus procedures.

Potential conduct violations can be resolved through informal conversations and resolution, or through a formal hearing process. Both processes are based on the concepts of respect for all community members, education through the disciplinary process and fundamentally fair treatment of students.

In the case of potential conduct violations regarding the abuse of alcohol or other substances, UMR may contact parent(s) or guardians of students in accordance with the Parental Notification Policy (PDF).

Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Kendra Weber is UMR’s designated hearing officer with responsibility for enforcing the Student Conduct Code. Any questions related to the policy or campus procedures can be directed to her office. Contact information is at the bottom of this page.
